TIME TO MOVE ON FROM BENNETTGATE

Now that the dust has settled and Candyfloss has now provided us with a new, friendly forum ( its time to call a truce.  Hopefully everyone had the opportunity to say that which was simmering away inside them (I was one of them) and we can concentrate on doing what we are all here for.  Getting justice for the little girl who disappeared and focus our efforts on those responsible for the cover up.

Whether Tony was up to no good will remain a mystery, like everything else in this case, we will have to wait for it all to come out in the wash.  It doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things, its a bit like a cinema audience fighting amongst themselves in order to change the ending of the film.  Utterly pointless.

Although I have been around this case for 7 years, this has been the first and only time, I have ever followed a major crime and it has been an enlightening experience.  It opened up a whole new world I had no idea existed and if I wasn't convinced about the McCanns' guilt before, I certainly was when I encountered online the criminally insane people who protected them.

The first forum I posted in was like a gladiatorial arena, it had pros and antis posting together and it had no moderators.  It was where I developed my (now 3 stone lighter) rhinoceros hide and the ability to squish trolls on twitter.  Looking back on it, I'm not altogether sure whether people on the AOL Europe board believed the McCanns one way or the other, or just liked to fight a lot.

But back on message.  Tony's investigation will have no relevance to the real one and I doubt SY read the lengthy tomes he sends to them.  Very few people believe Tony's theories, and if he was muddying the prosecution case (deliberately or otherwise) by discrediting the main witnesses, then he has failed.  The Smith family maintain their dignity and followers of this case are left wondering what he is up to.  The investigation continues.

  1. You head your latest blog 'time to move on from Bennettgate' (?) and then dedicate practically the whole screed to the subject of Tony Bennett.

This is the second time you've refused to publish a post submitted by me and instead posted a new blog. No matter as I said this evening, at least you read before sticking it in the bin.

  3. Time to move on indeed, but not before I say my piece about TB and his continuing prying into the life of Martin Smith. Like a stuck record, he has repeated at length in a reply to a poster about the reliability and honesty of this Irish witness. He claims he can find no DETAILS about Mr Smith's business/ army career.
Then with wonderful precision of thought he says IF Smith told a barefaced lie about this, then he has form for lying [ implication, he lied to help out his pal Murat]. No proof of a lie, just IF he has lied about his career, we can't trust him.
Thank heaven I got the hell out of there 3 months ago. I miss it like a hole in the head and how any rational person with a sense of fair play and decency can stand to be associated with a place where that man holds sway is something I can't understand. Thank you Candyfloss for starting another place to debate.

Now, over and out. As you said, time to draw a line and move on.

    1. well said. Can't understand why TB doesn't look up Mr Smith's company in the companies office - that would give him the names of the actual directors (which he keeps disputing) and other info on the company. As for his career TB says two papers have given two different occupations. So what! Can you believe anything you read in the media? Mr Smith's work background is of no relevance to his sighting on the evening Madeleine vanished.

    2. Indeed, RussianDoll. He's not a nice piece of work, but he didn't do it all on his own (although he seemed to have had much assistance from his various Doppelgangern). I particularly was impressed how he and others interpreted your departure as some sort of self disgust of a "pro" pretending to be an "anti" for so long. As Blacksmith would say "so tiresome, mate". And of course, "cesspit".
      O

    1. Many thanks Miss Beetle,

I have for the past few months been on a strict(ish) diet and fitness regime and I have gone from a size 22 to a size 12! I'd seen people of similar age to myself Dawn French, Pauline Quirke and Fern Brittan (same birthday), Stephen Fry, get their lives back, but didn't believe I could possibly do the same. Now I want to shout it from the rooftops (brag, lol) and explain how easy it was to do - on the basis that if I can do it, anyone can!

I fantasised years ago that I would probably spend my twilight years in some sleazy bar drinking gin and singing 'Those were the days my friend' - not trekking over hills and dales and drinking green tea!

I will have to spread the word on my blog as my family and friends want to throttle me [I jest, they are very proud really] - but I am beginning to become a calorie bore (Maltesers 10calories each - 3 will satisfy chocolate need but send you to bed sobbing - entire packet will still mean going to bed sobbing but you will have to do 20 stomach crunches first). Haven't really been that obsessed, only for this last obstinate stone but now upping the ante and joining The Ramblers! Watch this space :)

    2. Say, WOW. My wife is a seamstress (all her working life - 36 years) and I know that is a HUGE drop in size from a 22 to a 12.

She has often had to downgrade wedding dresses from size 18 or 20 down to 14 or 12. It basically means she has to remake the entire thing! But she loves doing it.

      Well done, young lady.

Try this. Put one of those pesky Maltesers on your tongue, close your mouth, and just let it melt there.
It's like an angel crying on your tongue.
It rolls off your tongue like a young fawn.
Oh, and close your eyes while you do it.

  9. Don't waste your time with TB. He is working for TM to discredit the Smiths. All will be revealed soon. TB will be going down.

    1. Given his constant attacks on the Smiths,Sharonl,s misleading posts and discrediting Mrs Fenn and both their attempts to blame Murat it is reasonable to assume that they have sold their soul to the devil.

    2. If he's working for the McCanns, the last place he will go is prison - he'll be protected, the same as they are.

    3. but but - he denied it on this very blog - don't you believe him?

    "j.rob Today at 5:19 pm

I dread to think what the photos of Madeleine are like that are NOT deemed appropriate for the public domain. Given the nature of some of the photos of her that HAVE been deemed appropriate. on for so long."

This is about a 3 year old girl and there of hundreds of posts like that on the forum that you chose to post on and were happy with until you fell out with bennett.

    Shame on you
